An Intro to Drone Photography

Whether you're looking to take photos of cityscapes, landscapes, or just have some fun with a drone, aerial photography allows you to see the world from a new perspective.

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of aerial photography, including the equipment and techniques required to capture stunning images from the skies. We'll cover topics such as selecting the right drone for your needs, camera settings under different conditions, composition from the sky, and post-processing techniques to help you take your drone photography to new heights (pun intended). With hands-on training and a focus on real-world applications, this course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to capture breathtaking aerial photos.

Course Curriculum:

  • Ready for lift off. Get started with a course overview, discuss the best drone for your aerial photography needs and how to practice.

  • Dive into the drone laws and requirements for your country. Understand how to safely operate a drone and what functions and precautions are needed to get your drone back to your safely.

  • With things like wind speed and aircraft movement, learn how to account for different conditions to achieve outstanding results with each flight.

  • In this module, learn how to work with different angles, compositions and subjects, whether in an urban or landscape environment.

  • Once you have your aerial images, learn how to use Lightroom and Photoshop to get the best out of them.

  • Summarize your learnings and discuss the next steps of becoming a competent aerial photographer.

Participants based in Hong Kong can opt for practical, in-person lessons, otherwise these will be done remotely with assignments.
